On Wednesday, September 4, Kitty Rogers, a beautiful young bride, walked the aisle to marry a handsome young groom, Frank Pietsch. The couple and their families then celebrated the nuptials with a sumptuous reception at the Rogers’ home, now known as Hearthstone, where according to the Appleton Crescent, “the rooms never looked so lovely as on this occasion.”

Hearthstone museum members are invited to join us on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 to celebrate the 130th anniversary of this momentous occasion. We have filled the house with flowers, just like on that day, to create what the Appleton Weekly Post called “an effect that was magical and poetic in its inspiration.” Kitty will be there in our thoughts and we will serve light refreshments including a piece of wedding cake and a flute of bubbly for everyone in attendance.
